For Dad’s in Northern California, Father’s Day just got a little more special. Enter Motorama 2013.
Nestled about 20 miles east of San Francisco, the rustic town of Lafayette played host to one of the most colorful new California car shows this past Sunday, June 16.
Presented by the Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary, the relatively new Motarama has come into its own as a California car show to be reckoned with. Featuring dozens of classic cars, classic muscle cars, hot rods, street imports and other tricked-out rides, the thousands of spectators were also treated to a special set by the Air Force Band and some of San Francisco’s famous food trucks, which are an event unto themselves.
Showcasing classic cars – helping the community
Motorama 2013 truly had something for everyone. The cars showcased in this coveted California car show ranged from several classic Pontiac GTOs, to vintage Corvettes, Ford Mustangs, Porsches and others. There was even a gorgeous 1951 Frazer and a 2004 Ford GT in tow—definitely not things you’re likely to see everyday.
The Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary raises funds for the community as well as a wide variety of local and international charities. It’s also got more than its fair share of DIY’ers and classic car enthusiasts.
More California car shows to come
With the success of Motorama 2013, there will be more car shows to come. And the town of Lafayette is the ideal place. The weather is mild, the amenities abundant and best of all, the setting is perfect, with an entire street serving as a spacious catwalk for these wondrous four-wheeled beauties.
